121st birth anniversary of Netaji celebrated in Karbi Anglong

DIPHU, Jan 24 - The 121st birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chnadra Bose was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Karbi Anglong. Karbi Anglong Netaji Conscious Society, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and the All Assam Bengali Youth and Students Federation paid rich floral tributes to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on his 121st birth anniversary in Karbi Anglong.

Many dignitaries and people from various communities attended the ceremony on Tuesday at Netaji Park of the town. Ranjit Sen, founder president of KANCS hoisted the official flag of KANCCS. Chief Guest SK Ganguli, 2nd commanding officers of CRPF, Diphu unit attended the Netaji Park at Diphu to pay his tributes.

At Sitalabaro locality of Diphu town, the Bengali community people observed the 121st birth anniversary of Netaji in a befitting manner. The day was also celebrated at Howraghat with day-long cultural programmes.

On the other hand, the day was also observed by the Howraghat Netaji Welfare Society (NWS) which took out a colourful cultural programme along the Howraghat town where cultural groups from different indigenous communities comprising Bodos, Dimasas, Tiwas, Karbis, Adivasis and Bengalis etc., participated. The programme began with the hoisting of the national and NWS flags by Krish Saha, president NWS.

The national integrity procession was flagged off by Bhabhesh Rajbanshi, headmaster, Howraghat Town Girls� High School. Garlanding of Netaji statue was inaugurated by Sujit Sarkar, branch manager, Howraghat State bank of India (SBI) and the Netaji�s birth time was declared by Gautam Sutradhar , secretary NWS. Art, quiz and extempore speech competitions were also organised among the students.

In the evening, candle lighting programme was inaugurated by Khonsing Rongpi, EM, KAAC and a cultural programme was inaugurated by Sangeet Jeuty award winner Jaymoti Narzary and principal of Indradhanu Kala Niketan.
