TURA, Feb 28 - About 12 shops were gutted in a fire, allegedly caused due to a short circuit, in the coal-rich Jadi village near Nongalbibra in South Garo Hills district today.
The fire, which took place at about 1 am this morning, was quickly doused by fire tenders.
There was no casualty, but the extent of damage is yet to be assessed, said South Garo Hills SP Abraham T Sangma.
