12 new cases in Nagaland

DIMAPUR, June 27 - The COVID-19 tally in Nagaland reached 387 today after 12 more cases were reported in the past 12 hours.

The number of recovered cases in the State stands at 164 as on Saturday. The number of active cases is 223.

According to the Nagaland Health Department, two more patients recovered on Saturday. �2 more patients have been recovered from COVID-19. Both patients are from Dimapur,� Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister S Pangnyu Phom informed in his latest update on Twitter.

Meanwhile, after a Nagaland Police constable tested positive for COVID-19 on June 24 in Mon district, top officials of the district have gone into self-isolation.

According to a report reaching here, the Mon Deputy Commissioner, the SP and the Chief Medical Officer are taking precautions as they had come into contact with people who were near the police personnel.

The police constable posted at a quarantine centre in Mon district developed COVID-19 symptoms on Wednesday last. Following this, a swab sample was taken from him, which �returned positive�.

Following the development, the Mon district administration has enforced a total lockdown in the entire district since June 25 as a pre-emptive measure. The report also stated that the police personnel had come into contact with several others in the past few days. Contact tracing is under way in this regard.
