12 more people test positive in Nagaon

NAGAON, June 2 - Twelve more people, including a two-year-old child, who were quarantined at various centres in the district after their arrival from Tamilnadu, Maharashtra, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh respectively, tested positive for COVID-19 today.

Sources said that out of these 12 persons, three each were quarantined at Kampur HS School and Dagaon AK Girls HS School hostel, two were quarantined at Dhing Girls� High School while one each at Bagariguri High Madrassa, Salna Bapuji High School, Kochuwa HS School and Chapormukh Guest House respectively. All of them arrived in the district in between May 23 to May 26.

According to sources, those who tested positive for COVID-19 today are � Mustak Arif (22) of Salkathe Pothar; Nazrul Islam (19) of 1 no. Gayangaon; Moin Uddin (20) of 2 no. Langia; Nurjamal Hussain (22) of Gayangaon; Ashiqul Islam (18) of Lahkargaon; Ebajul Haque (19) of Salonibari under Dhing PS; Himansu Das (44) of Simaluguri; Ranjit Das (34) of 1 no. Khalihamari; Sanjay Das (30) of Simaluguri; Diya Sarkar (2) of Rajagaon under Kochuwa PS; Durlav Nath (32) of Bhumuraguri under Uluwani PS and Arup Sarkar (21) of Kothiatoli under Kampur PS.

The district medical surveillance teams immediately shifted all of them to Nagaon Swahid Bhugeswari Phookonani Civil Hospital for treatment as well as further care.

It may be mentioned here that a total of 50 COVID-19 positive patients are being treated in the hospital till today.

Meanwhile, another batch of 348 stranded people arrived at Nagaon today, out of which 247 were quarantined at various Covid Care Centres (CCC) in the district after collection of their swab samples while the rest were quarantined at their respective homes.
