SILCHAR, April 17 - As many as 12 buffaloes were rescued by locals of Baroigram under Karimganj district�on Monday�night.�
According to sources, the buffaloes were recovered from a place at Katarkhool on the edge of the Indo- Bangla border. Later, police was called on and the buffaloes were taken to the local police station. However, no arrest has been made in this regard.
In another development, a Bangladeshi national was arrested by Karimganj Police today.
According to police, the arrested person has been identified as Dilwar Hussain (26).
Dilwar hails from Sairkuri village in Maulavibazar district in Bangladesh had crossed the border without any valid documents. A mobile phone bearing a Bangladeshi SIM and currency notes of the neighbouring country was also recovered from his possession.
