GUWAHATI, Jan 20 � All Assam Netaji Birthday Celebration Committee like previous years will celebrate 118th�birthday of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in Guwahati on January 23. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is expected to attend the function with other eminent dignitaries.
The organizers have been trying to spread the spirit of patriotism amongst the citizens particularly the young generation by observing the birth anniversary of the illustrious son of the soil every year.
According to the organizers, to bring a change in the society, it is important to inculcate patriotism in the young people many of whom have been losing direction.
�The motto of the programme is to spread the ideals of Netaji to our young generation. Of late we have noticed unrest among a section of youth in the society so we appeal all to join us on this auspicious occasion to mark the day and spread communal harmony in the society at a large,� the organizers made an appeal.
The organizers said that this programme will also give an opportunity to know about the contribution of Subhas Chandra Bose towards Assam and for the entire North East India. Invited speakers will dwell at length on the contribution of Netaji and his role in the North East. Floral tribute will be paid at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose�s statue installed at Subhas Chowk, Paltan Bazar.
