116 more COVID-19 cases in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, Aug 21 - Arunachal Pradesh recorded 116 more COVID-19 positive cases on Thursday. The State�s tally of confirmed cases has now gone up to 3,066, a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services here last evening stated.

Arunachal Pradesh also witnessed the release of 71 cases on the day following recovery. With this, the total number of recovered cases rose to 2,093.

There are 968 active cases undergoing treatment at various hospitals, while five persons have lost their lives due to the viral infection.

Of the 116 new cases registered in 14 districts, 32 cases were reported from Changlang with 15 of them being workers of a construction company, six staff of the Namdapha Reserve Forest and three Central Paramilitary Forces (CPMF) personnel.

While 18 of the 19 positive cases in East Siang are CPMF personnel, 20 cases were confirmed in West Kameng that included seven CPMF personnel, one State Police personnel and 12 are primary contacts of a positive case detected earlier.

East Kameng registered 10 cases. Eight cases came from West Siang, closely followed by the Itanagar Capital Complex with seven and Lohit at six.

Lower Siang reported four cases, while three cases were found in Papum Pare and two each came from Anjaw and Tawang. Kamle, Lower Subansiri and Shi-Yomi registered one case each.

Among the 116 cases, 103 were found to be asymptomatic and 13 symptomatic, as per the bulletin.

Of the 71 recovered cases recorded in 14 districts, Anjaw took the lead with 23, West Siang came second with 13 and Changlang recorded six. West Kameng, Itanagar Capital Complex and Lower Siang released five patients each, while three each were discharged in Lower Dibang Valley and Papum Pare. East Kameng and Tawang recorded two recoveries each. One cured case each was registered in Lower Subansiri, Namsai, East Siang and Leparada.
