DIBRUGARH, May 30 � Salt Brook Academy here became the only educational institute to bring laurels this year to the district by bagging 11 top ranks in the higher secondary examinations conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC).
The students of the private institute secured six ranks in the Arts stream, four ranks in the Science stream and one in the Commerce stream. It must be mentioned here that the institute has grabbed top ranks for the 17th consecutive year since 1999. It had secured eight ranks last year.
The Academy�s Jyoti Sonowal was ranked 2nd, Subasana Kashyap 3rd, Bidisha Dowerah 4th, Namrata Dutta 6th, Anwesha Gogoi 7th and Debismita Gogoi stood 9th in the Arts stream.
In the Commerce stream, Pankhi Hazarika of the Academy grabbed the 10th rank.
In the Science stream, Kaushik Ranjan Hazarika bagged the 2nd rank, while Anindya Bikas Dutta, Navjot Singh Dhillon and Pingal Pratyush Nath shared the 10th rank. Kaushik scored highest 100 marks in Mathematics. He hails from Namrup and is the son of Hiranya Hazarika, Principal of BVFCL Higher Secondary School, Namrup. Kaushik desires to be an Engineer. Jyoti Sonowal, the topper from the Arts stream wants to do Honours in Political Science and then crack the UPSC examination.
