GUWAHATI, Sept 23 � The 1st Bn NDRF, Patgaon has pressed 11 search-and-rescue teams to assist the flood-affected people of Guwahati, Goalpara, Boko and other areas.
Incessant rainfall since the last three days in Assam
and Meghalaya created unprecedented havoc in the capital city and other parts of the State.
Alok Kumar Singh, Commandant of NDRF said that the response of NDRF has been proactive and the search-and-out teams are carrying out rescue operations in the flood-affected areas on a war-footing. �Besides, we are keeping a close watch on other affected areas and we have activated the remaining search-and-rescue teams for effective and proactive response,� he added.
