DIBRUGARH, Oct 22 - Eleven Ward Commissioners of Dibrugarh Municipal Board (DMB) from among the 16 of the BJP who expressed �no confidence� against the incumbent Chairperson Soma Chakravorty, have called for a special meeting of the Board on October 25 after the chairman failed to convene a meeting to prove the confidence of the majority of the Board.
The 11 Ward Commissioners of the BJP had expressed no confidence in writing to the Chairman on September 26. The 11 signatories who have moved the �no confidence� are: Anuradha Dey, Manik Ghosh, Dr Saikat Patra, Jugananda Sensowa, Bajrang K Mittal, Amit Singh, Arpana Das Shah, Rachana Jain, Naushaba Rahman, Shampa Dey and Mamun Gogoi Mitra.
The signatories have invoked Section 43(3) of The Assam Municipal Act, 1956, mentioning that if the chairman or the vice-chairman fails to call a special meeting within 20 days of the receipt of requisition for floor test, the signatories demanding floor test could call the meeting.
