By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Sept 15 - An eleven-day Guwahati Banana Festival 2017 was inaugurated today at the Panjabari Bipanan Kshetra here by Chairman of the Assam State Agricultural Marketing Board Palit Kumar Bora. The event is being jointly organised by A&A Organics in association with Anjaybee Green.

As part of the festival, Bora also inaugurated the largest banana ripening centre in North East India in the presence of Manoj Kr Baruah, Vice Chairman, Assam State Agricultural Marketing Board; Diljit Das from Anjaybee Greens; Arunav Bhagawati from A&A Organics; banana farmers and other dignitaries.

Most of the bananas available in the local market are ripened by using calcium carbide or other chemicals which are very harmful to health and may even lead to cancer as the chemicals are carcinogenic. To solve this problem, A&A Organics in association with Anjaybee Green, has taken the initiative for supplying hundred per cent carbide and chemical-free bananas.
