11 Bangladeshi nationals held

NILAMBAZAR, Aug 20 - Altogether 11 Bangladeshi nationals were arrested by a joint patrolling party of Assam and Tripura Police recently at Churaibari inter-State border.

Police recovered a sizeable amount of Indian and Bangladeshi currency notes, mobile handsets, fake medicine-making machines and some valuable documents, etc from their possessions.

According to sources, Jalal Ahmed, Nurul Amin, Amir Hussain, Abdul Sabur, Abdul Ahad and Mohammad Rashid of Sylhet in Bangladesh entered India by crossing Sunamura international border in Tripura, while the other five Bangladeshi nationals, namely Mujib Shek, Ujjal Shek, Babul Haldar, Najrul Shek and Mintu Baidya were arrested by Dharmanagar Police.

Meanwhile, the police has intensified operation along the bordering areas to prevent entry into the Bangladeshi nationals into the Indian territory. �During the flood, they ( Bangladeshi) try to enter the Indian territory in quest of their jobs and accordingly, we take strict vigil along the border,� police sources told. They also informed that police department has already been geared up to thwart any attempt from the Bangladesh side. �We have also increased our night patrolling after the arrest of the Bangladeshi nationals,� the sources added.
