AIZAWL, July 25 - National Institute of Technology (NIT) Mizoram held its 1st Convocation at Mizoram University auditorium here on Saturday.
Mizoram Governor Lt Gen Nirbhay Sharma (Retd), in his speech on the occasion, congratulated the students, their parents and teachers on their success. It is fortunate that Mizoram has one of the best technological colleges like NIT, the Governor said.
The Governor in his speech underlined the need of science to explore and tap the rich natural resources of the State and asked the students to give importance to it for progress of the State. He also expressed his wish that NIT Mizoram campus be a �Green NIT Mizoram campus�.
108 students of 2010 and 2011 batches were awarded engineering degrees during the 1st NIT Mizoram convocation. Tech Mahindra, Infosys, TCS, L&T, IBM, NSE, HP, Wipro, Nile stream, Bespoke, Polaris Fin Tech, Reinspire tech, KEC Int, had conducted Campus interview at NIT Mizoram and offered job to 67 per cent of 2010 batch and 77 per cent of 2011 batch during their final year.
