108 Mrityunjoy Service catered to 37,158 cases in May

GUWAHATI, June 4 - The GVK EMRI 108 Mrityunjoy Emergency Service catered to 37,158 emergency cases in the month of May and 9,447 suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases in the State till May 31.

The team of emergency service had catered to the highest number of suspected or positive Covid-19 cases totalling 6,455 in the month of May alone. The total emergency cases in May also included the suspected or confirmed Covid-19 cases in the same month.

In a statement, the emergency service said that amidst the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19 and the first wave of flood, its entire team is working tirelessly to provide service to each and every emergency call in this crisis situation. Moreover, the team of 108 ambulance service is dealing with the flood-affected people and also following the required norms to attend to suspected COVID-19 cases that might have to be evacuated from the relief camps.

�The highest number of emergency cases have been registered in Nagaon and lowest in Dima Hasao, the statement added.

The statement further added that rising floodwaters have affected many villages across the State and creating a challenge to provide emergency services in such affected areas. The entire emergency service management is working to the fullest extent to cater to each and every case so that despite the growing flood menace no emergency call goes unanswered, the statement added.
