104 tigers at Kaziranga Tiger Reserve

KAZIRANGA, June 16 - After the completion of tiger population estimation programme, the total number of Royal Bengal tigers in Kaziranga Tiger Reserve has been estimated to be 104.

The adult individuals tigers are 97, out of which 95 are available in the Kaziranga National Park area and remaining two were found in Burhachapori sanctuary under Kaziranga Tiger Reserve.

A total number of seven cubs have been reported from Kaziranga National Park area. There are 31 male and 55 female Royal Bengal tigers in Kaziranga Tiger Reserve. There are 11 Royal Bengal tigers whose sex could not be identified. This was informed by the Chief Conservator cum Director, Kaziranga Tiger Reserve, Satyendra Singh.
