1000 Cong, AIUDF, AGP workers join BJP

NAGAON, Oct 4 - Around 1000 Congress, AIUDF and AGP workers including ZP members, Panchayat members, ward commissioners and others of Nagaon sadar and Barhampur constituencies at a party meeting held today at Kamala Todi Bhavan formally joined the saffron party.

Out of those who joined the saffron party, there were Congress ZP member of Bhakatgaon ZP, Wazibulla Kabir, panchayat presidents and panchayat members of Laogaon-Herapatty, Kenduguri, Borbheti gram panchayat and Anchalik Panchayat members of Dakorghat and Dimoruguri gram Panchayats. Notably, ward commissioners of Nos 2 and 18 wards of Nagaon Municipality Board, also joined the ruling BJP. The local MLA Rupak Sarma felicitated all of them with a gamosa and urged all of them to strengthen the party in all aspects and said that there was no option in front of the ruling BJP in the state as well as in the country itself. The meeting was presided over by the party�s district president, Jayanta Nath.
