100 more cases detected in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, Aug 26 - With the detection of 100 more COVID-19 positive cases in Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday, the total number of confirmed cases rose to 3,412 in the State.

On the day, 81 COVID-19 patients were also discharged, taking the tally of recoveries to 2,508. The number of active cases stands at 899, while five persons have already died due to the virus, according to a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services here.

Of the 100 cases found in 14 districts, 23 cases were confirmed in the Itanagar Capital Complex, while East Siang reported 16 cases, Changlang 13 and Pakke-Kessang recorded 10 cases.

West Kameng reported nine cases and Upper Subansiri seven. Four cases each came from West Siang, Tawang and Lower Siang. Namsai detected three cases, two each were found in Tirap and Papum Pare, and one case was reported from Shi-Yomi.

Ninety-two of the 100 cases are asymptomatic and eight are symptomatic, as per the bulletin.

Meanwhile, among the 81 cured cases, West Kameng accounted for 31, Itanagar Capital Complex 19 and Lohit 15. Upper Subansiri saw eight releases eight and West Siang two. One cured case each was recorded in Lower Dibang Valley, Tirap, Tawang, East Kameng, Namsai and Changlang.
