SIVASAGAR, May 29 - Ten persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in Sivasagar district in the last two days.
All of them were under quarantine � nine at Moran Mohila Mahavidyalay and one at Baruah Changmai quarantine centre at Demow. They have been shifted to the Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh.
Those who were at Moran Mohila Mahavidyalay have been identified as Pallov Hazarika (20), Pradip Gogoi (30), Jonali Buragohain (21), Biren Garh (40), Rintu Baidya (22), Raktimjyoti Gogoi (25), Babul Kurmi (27), Bipin Tanti (40) and Moniram Konwar (35).
The patient who was quarantined in Demow has been identified as Firoj Yien (22) and he had arrived on a Shramik Special Train from Maharashtra on May 22.
A total of 307 persons are under quarantine in the district and 86 of them have been found to be negative after their blood and swab samples were tested at the Regional Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory at Lahowal in Dibrugarh district. Test results of 27 persons are awaited.
In Sivasagar district, there are 1349 beds in 33 quarantine centres at Sivasagar, Nazira, Amguri and Demow.
