TURA, March 7 - In a devastating blaze, 10 shops were gutted at Resubelpara causing damage to huge amount of goods. The incident occurred at about 10:30 pm last night at the Dekachang crossing.
The fire, which was allegedly caused by a high tension wire falling on the roof of one of the shops, engulfed the shops located nearby.
The amount of total damage caused by the fire is yet to be ascertained. However, no one was injured in the incident.
�The fire was caused by a high tension wire. The Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) personnel took a little time to reach the spot before it was finally doused,� said Dalton P Marak, SP of North Garo Hills district.
�We are now assessing the damage,� said SC Sadhu, DC of North Garo Hills.
