SILCHAR, Aug 2 - At least 10 workers were injured, including one critically, during a scuffle between police and agitated workers of Rosekandi Tea Estate here today.
According to sources, the incident resulted after labourers of the estate closed since July 25, were staging a protest outside the garden, demanding release of three leaders including Babul Kumar, who were arrested on Thursday evening, following an FIR against them filed by the garden management.
According to sources, condition of Arun Mal, aged around 40 is reportedly critical after he was recovered from a nearby stream and rushed to at SMCH for treatment.
Meanwhile, the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate sent the three accused to judicial custody after they were produced before the court.
