IMPHAL, March 22 � Altogether ten candidates including the sitting Congress MP Thangso Baite have filed nomination papers for the Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency comprising the hill districts for the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.
The polling for the Outer Manipur seat will be held on April 9 while polling for Inner Manipur parliamentary constituency comprising the valley districts will be held on April 17.
Three candidates namely Khamchinpau Gangte of Aam Aadmi Party, Lalamoi alias Momoi Gangte of CPIM and Independent candidate Amarson Samkhir have filed their nomination papers on the last date of filing the nomination paper on Saturday.
Earlier, seven candidates including the Congress candidate, BJP�s candidate Prof Gangmumei Kamei, NCP�s Chungkhokai Doungel, Independent candidate Mani Charenamei, AITC candidate Ms Kim Gangte, Lien Gangte of JD (U) and Soro Lorho of Naga People�s Front have filed their nominations.
The scrutiny of the nominations for Outer seat will be held on March 24. The last date of withdrawal of candidature is March 26.
Meanwhile, only one candidate, G Tonsana of Manipur People�s Democratic Front has filed his nomination paper for the Inner Manipur seat till date.
The last date for filing nomination papers for the Inner Parliamentary constituency is March 26 and scrutiny will be done the following day. The last date of withdrawal is March 29.
