JORABAT, Aug 13 - Basistha police today detained 10 people from the Dispur Revenue Circle office for allegedly cheating people by taking huge amounts of money to provide land documents.
Those detained were identified as Jehrul Islam, Ravindra Kalita, Manvendra Das, Manav Das, Bipul Barman, Jatin Das, Mahfizur Rehman, Jugal Mali, Amal Deka and Babul Ali.
Police took action after the Dispur Revenue Circle Officer Dr Dhrubajyoti Hazarika filed a case at the Basistha Police Station following a written complaint lodged by two persons from Fatasil Ambari area in the city.
