RANGIYA, Sept 9 � One person was killed and 25 others, six of them seriously, were injured in a clash between two communities in Kamrup (Rural) district today, police said.
The clash took place when members under the banner of Non-tribal Garo United Forum clashed with people demanding Rabha-Hasong Autonomous Council polls, they said, adding the first group had launched a blockade on a road.
The dead was identified and the injured have been rushed to a hospital.
The situation was brought under control after Deputy Commissioner S K Roy and Superintendent of Police P S Mahanta went to the spot.
Meanwhile, All Rabha Students Union has called a 12-hour bandh tomorrow in the district to protest against the incident. � PTI
