DIGBOI, June 4 - A special team of the Assam Police, arrested one Mintu Chutia this morning for his involvement in the murder of Girish Dutta, a young Assam Police commando trainer late on Sunday night.
�The accused who was at large after the commission of the crime finally fell into our net and we arrested him from Barekuri Borgaon area in Makum this morning and he is being interrogation�, informed Asif Ahmed, the Additional Superintendent of Police, Tinsukia.
Known for his valour, politeness and friendly attitude among the Assam Police fraternity, Girish was brutally stabbed by an unidentified youth on a trifling issue. The cowardly act was committed close to his Ashok Nagar residence near the rail crossing, when he returned home after attending a cultural night programme at Tingrai in Digboi.
