DIMAPUR, Jan 17 - Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang laid the foundation stone for improvement of roads at Purana Bazaar junction, NH 39, here on Wednesday.
Launching two important projects for improvement of Dimapur city roads, Zeliang was optimistic that on completion of these works, traffic snarls would ease in the town.
The two projects are part of NH 39 in which an amount of Rs 509 crore will be spent, he said.
He expressed gratitude to the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) for sanctioning the projects which he said was a long felt need of the people of Dimapur.
Saying that Nagas dream for a modern four-lane highway from Dimapur to Kohima would soon be a reality, he appealed for ensuring availability of land extending cooperation to enable timely completion of the projects.
Nagaland Minister in-charge (National Highway) Vikheho Swu reminded the gathering about Prime Minister Narendra Modi�s vision of Act East Policy, where 10 South East Asian countries would be linked.
�To link that, Naga people have to play a huge role where they have to cooperate in order to implement the Act East Policy,� he said.
