Youths urged to develop new business ideas

By CORRESPONDENT

MANGALDAI, April 26 - Mangaldai MP Ramen Deka urged upon the youths of the State to develop new business ideas and think positively.

Deka was addressing an workshop organised by the Guwahati chapter of the Software Technology Parks of India under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India on the newly-introduced Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Scheme for the North-east at Mangaldai on Wednesday afternoon. Deka attended the programme as the chief guest.

Citing an interesting example of how a youth with less education and money developed himself as a successful entrepreneur only due to his innovative business ideas, the MP urged upon the youths to avail the opportunities given by the Central government through different sponsored schemes and become successful entrepreneurs.

Transform yourself into job providers from job seekers, he maintained. Moreover, the MP laid stress on arranging more such workshops in Darrang district in the near future, keeping in mind the possible scope for employment in the ongoing projects like Aspiration District and the proposed Silk City Mangaldai Project.

Speaking on the occasion, Manikangkan Barooah, a prominent entrepreneur and the Secretary, North East Information Technology Association, talked about various business ideas which have strong prospects in towns like Mangaldai.

Earlier, Prabir Kumar Das, Director, Software Technology Parks of India, Guwahati, explained the significance of the workshop.
