Youth Parliament Festival at GU today

JALUKBARI, Feb 6 - The Gauhati University NSS Cell is hosting the State Level National Youth Parliament Festival tomorrow at Gauhati University. The festival is sponsored by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under the Scheme of National Youth Parliament Competition in Universities, Colleges throughout the country.

There will be altogether 60 participants from all the districts of Assam selected at different district youth parliament programmes held earlier in the districts.

The programme will be chaired by GU Vice Chancellor Dr Mridul Hazarika. Chief Secretary Alok Kumar will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Ashutosh Agnihotri, Commissioner and Secretary to the Govt of Assam, Dept of Sports & Youth Welfare will attend the programme as the guest of honour.

After selection at the State Level Youth Parliament the participants will be eligible to participate in the National Youth Parliament to be held in New Delhi on February 23-24, said Dr Ranjan Kumar Kakati, Director, Students� Welfare and Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell Gauhati University.
