JORABAT, Oct 4 - A motorcycle-borne youth, Mridul Tumung (27), died on the spot when he was hit by a speeding truck (AS 01 EC 7155) coming in the same direction on NH 37 at Nazirakhat under the Sonapur police station around 10.30 this morning.
Tumung, a resident of Jagiroad, was coming towards Guwahati when the tragedy occurred.
Although Jorabat police managed to stop the vehicle when the truck driver tried to speed away, the driver and the helper still gave the police a slip.
The truck has been handed over to the Sonapur PS.
