GUWAHATI, Oct 19 - The North East Writers� Forum, Zubaan and the Heinrich Boell Foundation have announced the 2015 edition of Zubaan�s Cultures of Peace, an event that focuses on India�s North East, according to a press release.

Launched in 2011, Cultures of Peace takes place annually in multiple locations and focuses on writers and writing, as well as music, food, poetry, and more. This year�s Cultures of Peace will take place in Guwahati, Bangalore and New Delhi. Supported by the Heinrich Boell Foundation, a long-term partner, the Guwahati edition of Cultures will take place on October 24 at the Gauhati Town Club.

Cultures of Peace aims to help to build bridges and make connections with people in other parts of India and to help create awareness about the region. To this end, discussions this year will focus on: travel writing, the issue of ethnicity, the media and women, new directions in writing and the translator�s dilemma.

Participating writers include: Arzuman Ara, Meenaxi Barkataki-Ruscheweyh, Surajit Barooah, Monalisa Changkija, Bibash Chaudhury, HN Das, Srutimala Duara, Arup Kumar Dutta, Uddipana Goswami, Mitra Phukan, Teresa Rehman, L Somi Roy, Anuradha Sharma Pujari, Ananya Shankar Guha and Bijoy T Singh.
