GUWAHATI, June 10 - Manoj Kr Goswami, an eminent short-story writer and a senior journalist, has rejected the Satabarshiya Sahitya Sanman declared by the Assam Sahitya Sabha this year.

Goswami refused to accept this honour citing some personal and some impersonal reasons in his letter to the States apex literary body.

In the letter to Sabha president Dr Dhrubajyoti Bora, Goswami also said he did not intend to hurt the pride of Sabha or that of other recipients.

It may be mentioned that the Sabha president had last week announced the Sahitya Sanman 2016 instituted in conformity with the centenary celebrations of the Sahitya Sabha, to 12 literary figures of the State, including Goswami.
