World Trade Fair from tomorrow

GUWAHATI, Sept 5 - Joya Communications with the support of Industries and Trade Fair Associations of Assam (ITFAA) is organizing a World Trade Fair at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre from September 7 to 20 next.

This will be the first fair in India in which franchise will be given to interested business houses from across the world.

�For the next 14 days beginning September 7, World Trade Fair will become the venue for the biggest colourful extravaganza with cultural functions, international products, international food festival, products from different parts of India and an ambience to welcome autumn and bid goodbye to summer,� Rajesh Das of Joya Communications said.

With exquisite products from Thailand, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Vietnam and Sri Lanka, the World Trade Fair will be the perfect celebration to welcome the festive season, he added.

The National Small Industries Corporation Ltd (NSIC) stalls with its indigenous products will be another attraction in the fair.

The organizers also have made arrangements to host cultural functions on selected dates showcasing rich cultural heritage of Assam along with world music. There will also be programmes like magic shows in the evening for the entertainment of children.

On September 8, Dr Bhupen Hazarika�s birthday will be celebrated in the evening with an exclusive women �Naam� performance by Vyjanti Talukdar from Nalbari.

As part of the celebrations, Thailand Business Matching programme will be held at Hotel Lily, Guwahati on September 16. Selected companies from Thailand will be interacting with local importers for future business partnership.

This event will be organized by the Thai Trade Centre, India with the support of Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Royal Thai Government. The Thai companies dealing in food products, household goods, plastic goods, beauty and consumer products will attend the meet to interact with local business houses.
