IMPHAL, April 7 - World Health Day was observed on Saturday at Indian Medical Association (IMA) Hall here. Manipur Health Minister L Jayantakumar attended the observation. The programme was jointly organised by Health department and IMA, Manipur branch under the theme �Universal Health Coverage, Everyone Everywhere�.
Speaking on the occasion, Jayantakumar expressed the need of better health services in remote areas where the health care facility is poor. He said that the government is trying its best to provide better health facilities to remote areas.
The State and district level awards including commendation awards to the best District Hospital, Sub-Divisional/CHC and PHC of the State was presented at the function. Thoubal district Hospital bagged the Best District Hospital award while CHC Wangoi won the Best Sub-divisional Hospital/CHC award for 2017-18.
