GUWAHATI, Sept 17 - The Small Farmers� Agri Business Consortium (SFAC), Govt of India, in association with the Associated Tea & Agro Management Services Pvt Ltd and State Director Horticulture, is organising a state-level workshop on promotion of farmer producer organisation (FPO) on September 19 at Lily Hotel, Khanapara here.

According to a press release, VB Pyarelal, State Agriculture Production Commissioner will be the chief guest of the occasion, while Amlan Baruah, Secretary, Department of Agriculture, will be the guest of honour.

The objective of the workshop is to discuss FPO, its importance, vision and mission. The invited participants are the State departments of agriculture, animal husbandry, handloom, bankers, agri insurance, State SFAC, Hoticulture Board, Spice Board, NABARD and non-governmental organisations, the release added.
