Women Engineers� Forum foundation day

JALUKBARI, Nov 9 - The Women Engineers� Forum of Assam (WEFA) celebrated its 6th foundation day in the auditorium of the Institution of Engineers (India), Assam State Centre at Panbazar on November 8.

WEFA president and First Lady of Arunachal Pradesh Rita Rajkhowa presided over the meeting. The welcome address was given by WEFA secretary Indrani Das. Dr Padmapani Mahanta, former director, Forensic Science Laboratory, was the chief guest.

Renowned innovator and distinguished guest Uddhav Bharali exhibited his innovations through a power-point presentation and elaborated on how these help in reducing the labour of hard-working people and how people can become self-reliant through their use.

Various prizes were presented to the toppers and one-time financial aid, offered by the family of late Kamala Gogoi, was given to Monika Naik of Jorhat Engineering College.

A souvenir was released on the occasion by chief guest Dr Mahanta. The cultural programme held on the occasion started with Borgeet presentation by Geetanjali Kakoti. This was followed by violin recital.

The vote of thanks was offered by Krishna Sharma, while the programme was anchored by Mitali Chakravorty and Pallavi Chakravorty, stated a release.
