GUWAHATI, July 18 - Just days after deadly landslides resulted in the death of two persons in the city, two more slides took place in Guwahati today.
Officials of Kamrup Metro district administration said that the landslides occurred this morning.
A family in 12th Mile area at Jorabat had a miraculous escape after a portion of a hillock located behind their compound fell on the house. The lady of the house, Nuni Sangma, received minor injuries in the incident.
The Circle Officer of Sonapur and other civic personnel rushed to the spot and after inspection they declared Sangma�s house to be located in a landslide-prone area and ordered its evacuation. The other incident took place at Nizarapar in Bamunimaidan area. However, nobody was hurt in the landslide.
