Woman entrepreneurs trained in making candles, beverages

GUWAHATI, Oct 13 - A month-long training programme on candle-making and food and beverages sponsored by the Women Cell of the Commissionerate of Industries and Commerce and implemented by the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), Bamunimaidam, concluded yesterday.

In total, 31 participants � 17 in candle-making and 14 in food and beverages � from districts like Barpeta, Haflong, Kamrup, Nalbari, Dima Hasao, Lakhimpur, Karbi Anglong, Udalguri and Diphu underwent the 30-day training.

Addressing the gathering, NSIC�s senior branch manager Vinod Vyas thanked additional director Bipul Das for his constant support and guidance for fulfilment of the objectives of empowering woman entrepreneurs.

Assistant director Manju Rani Gogoi Talukdar called upon the trainees to apply their newly-acquired skills in their entrepreneurial journey and wished them a bright future.

The participants were given certificates, 10 kg wax and tool kits to boost their journey towards entrepreneurship.
