GUWAHATI, Sept 29 - Seven weapons, including a .22 rifle and a double-barrel gun, were found from the residence of a businessman in the Ulubari area of the city. The weapons, which also included four air guns and hundreds of bullets, were found during an eviction drive carried out by a bank after the businessman, Nirodh Deka, defaulted a loan, police said.
�One does not need a licence to keep an air gun, and he has the licence for the other weapons. But we have seized the weapons. There are around 600 bullets. We are verifying if he procured them legally,� a police official said.
