WB poll results find echo in Tripura

By The Assam Tribune

AGARTALA, May 13 (PTI): The Assembly poll results in West Bengal had its echo in Tripura, another Left Front-ruled state, with the ruling CPI-M conceding they need to identify weaknesses to take remedial measure.

TC and Congress supporters and activists were seen bursting crackers and dancing on the streets following the declaration of results in West Bengal.

"We will meet soon to identify our weaknesses to take remedial measures," CPI-M state secretary Bijan Dhar said adding that in West Bengal people had voted out Left Front on the basis of their own experiences.

"It is true that winds of change were blowing across Bengal for the past few years but we could not assess its intensity in favour of the Trinamool Congress-Congress alliance ... We expected a close contest in the assembly elections but our assessment went wrong there," Dhar told reporters at party headquarters here.
