GUWAHATI, June 26 - In a joint operation, Biswanath police and city police nabbed a wanted poacher from the Paltan Bazar area today. The accused, Yakub Ali, was in the wanted list in many poaching cases.
Police said he was making efforts to secure bail in some of the cases registered against him. He is also learnt to have been chargesheeted by CBI in a rhino poaching case, in which he also has a nonbailable warrant issued against him.
In 2016, he was involved in the killing of a rhino in the Bagori range of the Kaziranga National Park (KNP). This year on March 29, he was involved in another such case in the Sixth Addition to the KNP. �We are looking for 10 men. We�ve caught five so far, including Yakub,� a forest official said.
