GUWAHATI, June 1 - The Pollution Control Board, Assam is organising a walkathon � �Walk for Plastic Free Environment� � in association with IOCL, Guwahati Refinery tomorrow as part of World Environment Day. This will be followed by an awareness meeting at the sports complex of Guwahati Refinery, stated a press release.
The basic objective of the walkathon and awareness meeting is to raise awareness among the common masses regarding the negative impacts of plastic waste on the environment and the need to stop using single-use plastic items in day-to-day life.
The walkathon will start from the Pollution Control Board premises at Bamunimaidam at 7 am and culminate at the Refinery sports complex two hours later.
