Violation of COVID-19 SOP condemned

By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, June 5 - The Nagaland Indigenous Peoples Forum (NIPF) today said it was disappointed at the violation of the standard operating procedure (SOP) by the State Government which sent a COVID-19 positive returnee to Peren district on June 3.

The NIPF urged the Government to be more sensitive and cautious in handling the situation. It sought to point out that a similar mistake was committed some days back by sending returnees to Tuensang before their test results were out.

The forum pointed out that it was mentioned in the revised SOP that all returnees from Chennai who arrived on May 22, will continue to remain at the quarantine centres till the COVID-19 tests are done on them, and those who test positive but do not require hospitalisation and are fit to travel will be sent by special transportation adhering to the necessary health protocols.
