Vintage car rally in city on Feb 23

GUWAHATI, Feb 20 � Car aficionados will get a rare treat on February 23 when 35-odd vintage vehicles, including nine motorcycles, will take part in a vintage car rally.

Organized by the Assam Tourism Development Forum and Heritage Automobile Association of Assam, with support from the Assam Tourism Development Corporation, the participating vehicles have their antiquity between 1924 to 1965.

The rally will start from the rotary of Guwahati Club at 9 am and will pass through B Borooah Road, GS Road, Ganeshguri, RG Baruah Road, Chandmari before culminating at Guwahati Club rotary. The cars will be on display till 3.30 pm for allowing the general public to have a glimpse of the antique vehicles.

The organisers said that the objective of the event was to showcase the heritage vehicles before the citizens and also to spread awareness on the need to preserve the vehicles in good condition.
