Vigilance awareness week held across city

GUWAHATI, Nov 2 - The Vigilance Awareness Week, which was observed at the SBI local head office in Guwahati from October 28, concluded on Saturday.

During the programme, PJ Goswami, Superintendent of Police (Vigilance), spoke on this year�s theme �Integrity: A way of life�. During the week, activities like essay competition among staff, and quiz competitions and awareness programmes in five schools were also held. Banners and hoarding were put up in prominent locations to create vigilance awareness among the people. This week was also observed in all locations of the North East by different branches of SBI.

At BSF headquarters: The Vigilance Awareness Week was also observed at the Frontier headquarters of BSF Guwahati, Patgaon. The vigilance pledge was administered by Inspector General Piyush Mordia, which was followed by various awareness programmes, such as visits to schools in the vicinity to create awareness among students. During the week, essay writing, debate, cartoon, poster competition on moral values, ethics, good governance, etc., were also organised.

At Guwahati Refinery: A large number of employees and students from various schools and colleges took part in the Vigilance Awareness Week that concluded on Saturday at the Guwahati Refinery, stated a press release.

In the valedictory function organised at the Guwahati Refinery Learning & Development Centre, Dr LR Bishnoi, Additional Director General of Police (CID), Assam, spoke on integrity and how it was important to follow rules and regulations, develop a sense of belongings with the organisation, work hard in a selfless manner, and how an individual can contribute towards a happy and prosperous nation.

D Kapoor, CGM (Projects) at Guwahati Refinery, spoke on avoiding corruption in life. He said vigilance was an integral part of management and every employee should be responsible for his role in the organisation.

Guwahati Refinery also organised a number of competitions, including quiz, speech, painting, slogan writing, etc., for generating awareness among the employees and their family members, students and contractual workers.
