GAURIPUR, April 15 - Verification of documents of 3 lakh, 65000 applicants began in Dhubri district from April 2 last. In this connection, an awareness meeting was held on April 6 last in the conference hall of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dhubri. Presiding over the meeting DC Ananta Lal Gyani told the gathering that the verification of the documents of the gaon panchayats are going on smoothly and expressed his satisfaction for the help rendered by the people in this regard. He also told the house that the people whose documents are cancelled or rejected, they should not be worried as they will be given the opportunity to include their names in the NRC.
The meeting was attended by ADC Pallav Majumdar, Addl SP GN Deka, State vice president of the BJP Bimal Oswal, former MLA Dhruba Kumar Sen, principal Santosh Malakar, Dhubri Girls� College, DIPRO and a few others.
