Vehicular traffic movements to be regulated

GUWAHATI, Nov 6 � Vehicular traffic movements in Guwahati will be regulated on November 7 and 8 in view of the tribute paying ceremony for legendary artiste Dr Bhupen Hazarika, whose body would be brought to the city tomorrow.

As per the plan, city buses coming from Chandmari will not be allowed to take right turn at Guwahati Club via MC Road and instead will be allowed to move via GNB Road towards Panbazar Road Over Bridge.

No vehicles will be allowed to move from High Court (East) point, all vehicles from Uzanbazar side shall be diverted via Tayabullah Road and Lamb Road

No vehicles coming from Bharalumukh side will be take right turn towards Kanaklal Baruah Road and instead allowed to move straight via MG Road and BC Road or Lamb Road and FC Road.

City buses for Route No. 1, 11, 13 and 21 coming from Bharalumukh towards Paltan Bazar will be regulated at Meghdoot Bhawan point and will be allowed to move via AR Barooah Road towards GNB Road.

City buses for Route No. 21 shall be regulated at Nalini Bala Devi Park point and will be diverted towards Paltanbazar.

No inter-district buses will be allowed to move via DG Road, TRP Road and AT Road on November 7 and 8.

No heavy and medium passenger carrying vehicles other than city buses shall be allowed to move from Bharalumukh towards Machkhowa side.

Further, all vehicles used by people coming to offer last respect to the mortal remains of the eminent singer will be allowed to park at Sonaram field and Bhootnath area.

No vehicles will be allowed to enter Kanaklal Barooah Road from District Library point and Lakshmi Nath Bezbarooah Road from Guwahati Railway Station Road point on November 7 and 8.

No parking shall be allowed on KLB Road, MG Road, AT Road and HB Road.
