By Correspondent

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Feb 23 The situation remained tense for the second consecutive day today in the adjoining areas of Behali under the Biswanath sub-division in Sonitpur district following the recovery of four more dead bodies yesterday. The NH-52 was blocked at Borgang and Bedeti by the activists of All Karbi Students Union, AMMSU and AAGSU in protest against the incident. A section of agitated people set fire to a Gypsy belonging to the Assam Police and a VIP Scorpio vehicle at Borgang. However, the passengers escaped unhurt.

Following the incident, an indefinite curfew was clamped from 6 pm today in the areas falling under the Borgang police outpost and the Gingia Police Station by the district administration of Sonitpur. Additional police forces have been deployed in the area.

Meanwhile, the last rites of the decomposed bodies were performed this afternoon.
