GUWAHATI, July 11 � Opposing vehemently the State Government�s imposition of VAT on garments, the All Assam Students� Union (AASU) today said that the Government must withdraw the decision in the greater interest of the people.
�At a time when the people of the State are facing an unprecedented price rise of all essential commodities � and which has little justification � the Government has no business to impose VAT on textile. This will severely hit the common people who are reeling under price rise.
