Vast areas of west Dhemaji submerged

DHEMAJI, Sept 24 � Due to incessant rains since Saturday night, the surging waters of the Jiadhal re-entered through the breached portion of Tekjuri embankment and submerged more than 30 villages in the area under Dhemaji revinue circle, causing untold miseries to the flood people.

The flood-affected people of west Dhemaji are passing sleepless nights since the rains on Saturday night.

This wave of flood has caused widespread damage to the paddy fields of the area.

The worst-affected villages include Sarudhekera, Bordhekera, Bordalapa, Lowmuri, Ujani Naruathan, Hechuli, Kekuri, Bhajugaon, Chakaladalani, Ghuguha Chapari, Kalakata, Batgharia, Hatipara etc.
