TIHU, Dec 29 - The 93rd birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was celebrated with a daylong function at Haribhanga here recently. A programme was organised on the occasion by Tihu BJP Yuva Morcha and Tihu Mandal BJP members.
The programme started with the lighting of earthen lamps by Upendra Nath Deka and Rohini Kumar Sarma, noted social workers of Haribhanga.
Gobinda Bhagawati, assistant teacher of Haribhanga High School, recited three Hindi poems composed by the former Prime Minister. He added that Vajpayee had played a key role in uniting the people of the country. �His (Vajpayee�s) contributions towards the development of infrastructure will always be remembered,� Bhagawati said.
