ITANAGAR, Aug 22 - The ashes of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be brought to Arunachal Pradesh tomorrow and immersed in Parashuram Kund located in Lohit district on Friday, according to a release from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here.
The urn containing Vajpayee�s ashes (asthi) will arrive at the Naharlagun helipad at 3 pm on Thursday and party workers will carry the asthi in a motorcade to the State BJP headquarters here. The asthi will be kept at the Dorjee Khandu State Convention Centre here for the public to pay their tribute.
After a day�s halt, the asthi will be flown to Lohit district via Mohanbari in Dibrugarh for the visarjan (immersion) in the Parashuram Kund, a Hindu pilgrimage centre. Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, State BJP president Tapir Gao and general secretary Jarpum Gamlin are likely to escort the asthi in its final journey.
